She Works – A Persona Poem July 31, 2006

Filed under: Poetry — jojanoski @ 8:40 am

This is a persona poem, a poem written from someone else’s point of view. It can even be the perspective of an inanimate object. In this case, it is what my desk lamp sees. I’ve done it in the cinquain form: Five lines with syllable counts, 2, 4, 6, 8, 2.

She Works

She works.
Blue shirt, red hair
Bent low, thoughts running wild
My light shines like her starry eyes
That search.
