In honor of National Poetry Month
A Tribute to my favorite poet…

Like Frost

His love of nature stirs music within
Making brooks ring out like sleigh bells in snow
While mid-summer birds know when not to sing
Walk through his ghost house, aching hearts to know.

Share his sorrow under sweet autumn rains
Or gather flowers in soft morning glow
With darting birds and orchid-white pains
Remember to stop by woods with lush snow

Ponder his sorrow, bask in soothing sun
Join him next on the road less traveled by
Make all the difference, choosing that one
Like Frost, see life through nature’s patient eye.

JO’s Journal -

The Storyteller’s Muse

Chapter 16

For a moment, it all came tumbling in on her… trying to clear her
name, riding with a ghost in the car, fighting off the police and a
jealous housewife. What was happening? Life had been so simple once.
Each day was an exercise in order and thoughtfulness, starting with the
coffee shop, then home to write, stopping only for meals and errands,
ending before midnight as she tapped out the last words for the day.

Pa. state prison populations growing old - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

If a judge sends Marilyn Devine to prison, the 76-year-old Baldwin bank robber won’t be the only grandmother doing time.

And with 5,500 inmates ages 50 to 64 — baby boomers behind bars — the
state’s prisons are set to grow even grayer in the next decade.

A Tanka About Nature

Earth’s fickle lover
On whimsy she showers rain
Next nods to make snow
Then claps her hands for thunder
Or paints new mornings with dew.
